I'm a category of one. Nobody else is combining Special Forces intelligence, AI security expertise, and a female voice that refuses to speak corporate.
19+ years in cybersecurity. 10+ years in Special Forces. Now I'm the person organizations call when AI threats get real, and the speaker people remember when the conference is over.
My career started in 2008 through the U.S. Army and led to over a decade in Special Forces as a Cyber Electronic Warfare Warrant Officer. That's not a resume line, that's where I learned to think under pressure, operate in ambiguity, and lead through the kind of threats that don't come with a playbook.
Now I run Outpost Gray, an AI security consulting firm, and I spend my days helping organizations understand the threats they haven't fully woken up to yet: Shadow AI, LLM vulnerabilities, agentic AI acting as insider threats, and deepfakes sophisticated enough to fool your finance team.
I've spoken at RSA 2024. I write on Medium. I co-host the 2CyberChicks podcast. And I built an AI agent named Zara, because if you're going to talk about AI, you should probably build with it too.
The throughline in everything I do: make the complex real, make the dangerous understandable, and make sure the humans in the room actually know what to do about it.
Speaking, consulting, podcasting, building: the throughline is the same: make AI and security real for the people who need to act on it.
Keynotes and workshops on AI security, Shadow AI risks, LLM threats, deepfake defense, and leadership at the intersection of military intelligence and emerging technology. RSA, corporate events, defense conferences, I bring energy, real stories, and zero tolerance for slide decks that put people to sleep.
Book a session →I founded Outpost Gray to fill a gap nobody else was filling: AI security consulting built on real operational experience. AI governance, Shadow AI detection, LLM red teaming, vCISO services, deepfake defense. We help organizations get ahead of AI threats before they become breaches.
Visit outpostgray.com →Co-hosting the 2CyberChicks podcast, real, unfiltered conversations about AI threats, cybersecurity, agentic AI risks, and breaking into the industry. We talk about the stuff other shows dance around. No gatekeeping. No jargon theater.
Listen now →I write on Medium about AI security, prompt injection, the human side of deepfake threats, and what the security industry gets wrong about AI governance. Real perspectives, not press releases. Sometimes it makes people uncomfortable. Good.
Read on Medium →We are at a historical inflection point. Artificial intelligence is reshaping every industry, every government, every military operation on the planet. And the people building it, governing it, and deciding how it's used are still overwhelmingly not women.
That's not a diversity talking point. It's a security and strategic risk. When the people designing AI systems all think the same way, share the same blind spots, and come from the same backgrounds, you don't get better AI. You get brittle AI. You get AI that fails the people it never had in the room when it was built.
I came to AI through a path most people haven't walked: Special Forces intelligence, 19 years in cybersecurity, a decade of operating in environments where getting it wrong has real-world consequences. That background gives me a perspective on AI that boardrooms, labs, and conference stages desperately need more of — not despite my being a woman, but partly because of it.
Through Outpost Gray and theZaraAI.com, I'm working to change the ratio. I teach AI concepts to people who think AI isn't for them. I show women in cybersecurity how to build AI agents, automate their workflows, and position themselves at the front of the AI wave — not the back of it. I speak at conferences not just to be the woman on stage, but to be the voice on stage that sounds like someone they haven't heard before.
If you're a woman trying to break into AI, cybersecurity, or both — I'm not ahead of you, waiting to pull the ladder up. I'm here to hand it down. Let's build this together.
I've spoken at RSA Conference, corporate boardrooms, military and defense events, and everything in between. My sessions are built for people who need to actually use the information, not sit through a slide deck and check a box.
Whether you need a 20-minute keynote that rewires how your audience thinks about AI risk, or a half-day workshop that gives your security team a real framework, I bring Special Forces precision and zero patience for fluff.
Looking for a speaker who brings real operational experience, AI security expertise, and the energy to make your audience remember the session a year later? Let's make it happen.
Let's ConnectI co-host the 2CyberChicks podcast, honest, no-BS conversations about AI security threats, cybersecurity careers, and navigating an industry that wasn't built for us. We cover Shadow AI, agentic AI risks, LLM vulnerabilities, deepfake scams, and the AI governance questions everyone is afraid to ask out loud.
We don't gatekeep. We don't sugarcoat. We talk like humans, because that's what this industry desperately needs more of.
I write about AI security, Shadow AI, LLM threats, agentic AI risks, and the leadership lessons nobody puts in a job description. No polish, no PR: just what I'm actually thinking.
Your employees aren't waiting for IT approval. They're already using AI tools you've never heard of. Here's the real risk, and how to get ahead of it.
